About the App State Online Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree
App State Online's part-time, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education program is ideal for those wanting to complete their degree in the evenings while being able to work during the day.
Classes meet two nights per week, synchronously online, and those who work as an instructional assistant in a public, K-6 classroom can often complete their field experience requirements right in their school.

Admission requirements
Admission requirements for App State Online’s Elementary Education program are:
- Completion of one of the following associate degrees:
- Associate of Arts Degree*
- Associate of Science Degree*
- Associate of Arts in Teacher Preparation
- Associate of Science in Teacher Preparation
*If you have an AA or AS degree, you will need to complete additional coursework prior to
beginning the program. Please talk with your advisor to determine the courses you need or to apply for a waiver, if applicable.

Program requirements
- All App State teacher education programs that lead to an initial licensure or a similar credential require multiple student teaching experiences at a North Carolina public school throughout the program, including a full-time internship during the last semester of the program.
